LIVING ROOM REMODEL

We have been in the new house for a year now. We had our one year walk thru and only had some minor things that needed changed. We strongly believe that you need to live in a place for a while to see how you want things decorated. Each place we have lived in, it seems we focus on different colors. When we first got married, we lived in a townhouse in Erie, PA, and we decorated things in teal. When we moved to Phoenix, AZ, we started in an apartment and just kept the same furniture and decorations. When we built our first house, the color started to slowly change to a soft green (more sagelike). Teal just didn't seem to fit. Now that we have built our dream home, the green just doesn't seem to fit. I still add some things with sage green in as accents but the focus is shades of brown. Our master bedroom is half painted in a chocolate brown (didn't want to paint the whole room that color so only focused on one wall).

Anyways, we finally found the perfect color for the living room/dining room. Since this is the first room you see when you walk in the door, I wanted this room done and to feel nice and welcoming warm. I think we succeeded. I also wanted to beat Chad and adding pics before he did (Musings from the Desert).

That looks awesome! Oh, how i wish i had some sort of color in our house. We are sooo plain. No color what so ever. I even had an interior decorator come in...but she still couldn't convince me to put more color on the walls! I think it looks great!

I like it it is really nice! I don't think I'd dare to do something like that. Maybe because we are not in our dream house quite yet. I think I would be more daring then.
